Planning for a wedding definitely takes a toll on your health. Stress, anxiety, mood swings are the accompanying triggers! Your body can fight infections naturally but only to a certain extent. Here are certain foods that help to boost immunity and reduce stress…

• Colourful fruits and vegetables are rich sources of bioflavonoid which are antioxidants. They increase the infection fighting cells in the system and thus help body to ward off infections.
• Herbs and spices add a punch to your meal and help to fight infections. The anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties of turmeric, fennel, pepper, coriander make them a popular choice to help deal with a spectrum of illnesses.
• Garlic and onions contain allicin, a sulfurous compound that has strong anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties.
• The omega-3 fatty acids in flax oil and fatty fish (such as salmon, tuna and Mackerel) increase the activity of the white blood cells that destroy the bacteria, thus boosting the immunity.
• Ginger, lemon, oats, tea, yogurt and chicken soup are also known to improve the body’s immunity and keep stress at bay.

Eat to empower not kill your libido
Dim light. Strawberry and Cream. Champagne. Essential Oils. A warm Jacuzzi bath. Just you and him! Kindle that flame of romance with these aphrodisiacs. Also check out the foods that dampen your love life.

• Whole grains and bananas are rich in B vitamins that boost sexual performance. Almonds, Pumpkin seeds and salmon are rich in zinc, Vitamin E and essential fatty acids vital for sex hormone production.
• Celery stimulates a gland in the brain that controls sex hormones.
• Dark chocolate (foods containing at least 70% cocoa solids) contains phenylethylamine, which is referred to as a “love drug” because it acts a vasodialator. This quickens the pulse, increases blood flow to all the right places. It tricks the brain into thinking it’s falling in love and increases sexual desire. It is a mood enhancer.
• Berries, spinach, avocado are also aphrodisiac foods.
• Coffee, alcohol, refined and sugary foods are all libido crashers. So keep a check on them and have in moderation.
